Though Border Park looked young Blyth gave them respect from the start and to their credit Border Park never gave up.

Within 10 minutes Blyth went in the lead with a converted Try by Fly half Chris Hogg. Bill Routledge and Dave Little then combined well to score three further tries and just before the half time whistle Ian Hudson drove over to score giving Blyth a 29-0 lead.

The home forwards were causing Border Park loads of problems, winning line out, particularly in the front via Steve Henderson, and driving the visitors off their scrum ball. The running off the base of the loose was also awesome with some great linking between scrum half Dave Little and key runners like Dave Baxter, Ian Hudson, Malcolm Morris and captain James Henning.

In the second half Routledge was replaced by Kieran Simpson and Dan Cole by Darren Meggison.

Further tries by Dave Baxter, James Henning and Steve Henderson increased the lead to 44-0.

Park refused to give up and scored a well worked try through their backs,

Blyth made further changes Gareth Henderson came on for Dean Hood, (allowing a Henderson father/ son combination on the field), and Dave Awcock come on for Ollie Clarke.

Park scored again whilst two Blyth players were sinned binned.

Once Blyth were back in full strength, three final tries by Dave Little, Kieran Simpson and Dave Awcock giving Blyth their well deserved 61_12 result.
