Blyth took on Tynedale in an odd but entertaining 3 match format.

Each game was to last 20 mins giving coaches a chance to swap players around game by game.

Game,1 Blyth 12-8 Tynedale

Blyth came out the blocks fast and shocked Tynedale a team who have caused Blyth plenty if problems in the past.
With a show of speed and strength Ryan hull scored for Blyth with his trade mark finger wag!
Josh Dixon just pulling his conversion wide.
Tynedale hit back with a try and conversion to take a slender lead.
In a tightly contested game Blyth regrouped and gained momentum.
Kieran Williams broke through tynedales defence with a determined run to touch the ball down and regain the lead for Blyth, this time Josh Dixon made no mistake this time and Cooley slotted the ball between the post to seal the win for Blyth.

Game,2 Blyth 0-19 Tynedale.
This game didn't go as well for Blyth and Tynedale took advantage of the three game format and larger squad.
All though Blyth defended valiantly they couldn't hold out and let in 19 points without reply.

Game,3 Blyth 10-19 Tynedale
The last game in the trio turned out to be a much closer affair with neither team shying from tackles and straining to gain an advantage with every opportunity.
Tynedale drew first blood with a try and conversion before Blyth replied with a try of there own with Flying Ryan Hull breaking free to touch the ball down.
Tynedale began to push Blyth hard and managed to score two more tries and a conversion to stretch their lead.
However Blyth did not let their heads drop and forced themselves back in the game with a well taken try from James Nelson.
This preceded a prolonged period of pressure from Blyth with them camped within 10 yards of tynedales line. And without some last ditch tackling Blyth may have pulled the score when Luke Giles was held up just short of the try line with almost the last play of the game.

Blyth may have lost 2 of the 3 games played but if this game had been played over a regular format and with the momentum they were building in the first game things could have been even closer than they ended up being.
A fine effort from all the boys they came off with heads held high and should be proud of themselves.
