Blyth u14s vs Berwick u14s

Seagull park was the venue for Blyth's opening game of the season
And what a game it turned out to be.

After a summer off and a number of new faces in the team the excitement to get the season off to good start was felt all round the surprisingly mild seagull park pitch.

With a large supporting crowd in attendance the game kicked off and from the start it was clear that Blyth and there new team members meant business.
Showing no respect for a team who narrowly beat them at the end of the previous season Blyth simply overpowered and out played a plucky Berwick side.

The tries came thick and fast and Blyth soon raced into a healthy lead displaying a highly aggressive yet controlled display of rugby,
First half tries came from Kieron Williams (1) and Ryan Hull (3).
With his first conversion attempts coming from difficult areas of the pitch Josh Dixon got his eye in to make 1 conversion and lead the team in 22-0 up at half time.

Berwick rallied themselves after the break and after Owen Wright had added to Blyth's score with a powerful solo run Berwick managed a try of there own.

Blyth however took this in there stride and continued to steamroller there way through Berwick's defences.
Two more tries from Ryan Hull and one from Connor lynch helped rack up the points and with Josh Dixon and his trusty right foot comfortably converting the tries Blyth left the pitch with a healthy 46-5 points win over a team that in previous season would have caused them problems.

All coaches were in agreement that this was the best display of rugby they had seen from this group of players and with the new additions to the team settling in with very strong debut performances the future looks bright.
