Blyth RFC's plan to utilise a currently unused area of the club site on Plessey Road to create a new Youth Pitch has received financial support from Sport England (funded by the National Lottery) for the installation of new floodlights.

The creation of the new pitch has long been an ambition of the club which has a thriving Youth section with local boys and girls involved at all age groups from 4 years up to 18 years old.

The generous support of Sport England is stage one of the project and subject to the appropriate planning permission, work should commence during the summer and be completed before the new 2024/25 season.

The creation of the new pitch will greatly enhance the facilities on site and will hopefully lead to more & more local children being able to engage in and enjoy rugby staying fit, healthy and making life-long friendships.

The project will require improvements to the surface levels and drainage of the proposed pitch. Drainage surveys are planned and funding options are being explored.
